Hospitality Design

  Fall  2017

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Design a restaurant projected in the year 2029 for Manhattan, Kansas based on our predictions of the future restaurant and societal dining trends

INSPIRATION:

RESEARCH

Based on the research I found about the demographics and the type of community of Manhattan, KS, I decided a restaurant that allowed short visits, as well as long visits, would be successful here for the year 2029.

The restaurant will allow customers to come during the afternoon to grab a quick bite to eat or to meet with friends for coffee. While also welcoming them back in the evening to a restaurant they can have a relaxing dinner with family and friends. Having different dining options will bring in different types of crowds, and in return bring in more revenue for the restaurant.

RESTAURANT STYLE

The fast-casual dining area will serve quick meals and drinks you can grab and go through an electronic ordering system, while the casual dining area will welcome you for a full-service dining experience with Spanish cuisine and tapas.

The space will transition from warm bright colors during the day to dark cooler colors in the evening. No matter the time of day the restaurant will create a welcoming atmosphere for you to come to enjoy and savor the moment.

Concept: The restaurant brings in multiple crowds of people into an intimate and relaxing atmosphere, that brings different styles of dining into one cohesive design.
